Maria Ivanova
Program Director

For the past 12 years, Maria Ivanova has served in key leadership positions at New York University School of Medicine. Currently she is Administrator for the Department of Pediatrics, where she is responsible for providing leadership and overall administrative direction. In partnership with the Chair of the Department and clinical leaders, she develops and implements strategic goals, manages non-physician staff, and oversees the financial performance of the Department, including faculty group practice, and operating and research budgets. Maria previously served as Director of Clinical Affairs and Affiliation Administrator. Working closely with the Chiefs of Services, she provided administrative leadership and oversaw the Affiliation Contract between the School of Medicine and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation for the provision of clinical services at Bellevue Hospital Center and Gouverneur Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Maria received her B.A. from the Higher Institute of Economics, Sofia, Bulgaria (1997), and her MPA from NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, New York (2004). A former dancer in the National Opera Ballet in Sofia, Bulgaria, Maria loves music and long-distance running. In 2016, she is preparing to complete her 4th consecutive NYC Marathon.
