Jack Curran is an Administrative Director in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. Jack is responsible for providing leadership for several key research programs – Clinical Pharmacology, Genome Center, Center for Health Lifestyles & Nutrition, Translational Genetics, Bioethics, and Health Outcomes Research. He also serves as a key liaison to the Children’s Research Institute with respect to Research Administration, Research Financial Management, the Internal Grants Program, and Institutional Biorepository. Jack is originally from Kansas City, MO. He completed his undergraduate degree in Health Information Management at St. Louis University, before completing his Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Jack first worked at Children’s Mercy Kansas City in 2005 as a Unit Secretary in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, before returning in 2008 to complete a one year Administrative Fellowship. He joined the Department of Pediatrics as a Division Administrator in 2009. He is a proud fan of the Royals, Chiefs, and KU Jayhawks. He is also an avid runner and triathlete, completing several Ironman and Half-Ironman distance races over the last several years. When Jack is not training or working, he spends time with his wife, Nichole, as well as dog sitting and furniture building.
