Jill Ackerman started her career in hospital management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 1994 and has been the Administrative Manager of the Department of Pediatrics for 20 years. Her responsibilities in this role include operational oversight of inpatient and ambulatory services, facilities management, and non-clinical support staff and project management. Jill has filled leadership roles on many departmental and institutional projects. Jill received her undergraduate degree in Health Administration from the University of Scranton and Masters in Business Administration from The Lubin School at Pace University in New York City. She has been an active member of AAAP since 2005. She served two consecutive terms as Membership Director (2010-2015) and was Co-Site Host for the 2015 Annual Meeting in New York City. Jill played a critical role in sourcing the current AAAP website vendor and worked closely with the Website Director to help lead contract development, functionality and initial launch during her term as Membership Director. She also presented at numerous regional meetings on various topics including “Staffing Models: Formulas & Algorithms”, “Cost Containment at MSK”, “Manager as Coach” and “Physician Recruitment, Retention…& You”. Jill lives in Manhattan with her partner, Greg, and their two year old son, Michael. After running five consecutive NYC marathons in support of Fred’s Team, raising thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer research, Jill is on a temporary hiatus from long-distance running. Her fitness regime now centers on weight lifting 40lbs at a time in the form of an active toddler. She now fills her weekends with family road trips to various destinations along the Jersey Shore in their “antique” Mercedes diesel wagon.
