Kristi Baker, President

Kristi Baker is the Senior Executive Officer for AdventHealth for Children, where she oversees day-to-day operations and leads strategic planning and growth for a comprehensive network of pediatric services across Florida. Kristi is an accomplished health care leader with nearly 20 years of experience in pediatric services, spanning both academic and non-academic settings with a strong record of success in advancing clinical programs, optimizing operational performance, and enhancing the patient and family experience.
Before joining AdventHealth, Kristi served as Vice President of Women and Children Services at Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she led strategic initiatives and system-wide improvements across a multi-campus network. Other leadership roles include Administrator for the Betty H. Cameron Women and Children’s Hospital at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina, and over a decade of leadership service at Children’s Mercy Kansas City.

Gina-Marie Bounds, President-Elect

Gina-Marie is the Vice President of the Pediatric Service Line at Northwell Health. She oversees the operations, finances, recruitment, growth strategy, and program development for pediatrics across Northwell’s 3 regions. Northwell is the largest health system and private employer in NYS and Pediatrics is the 2nd largest service line in the health system with 522 physicians and 922 team members. Aside from her role in the service line, Gina-Marie also serves on several committees at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Northwell’s only dedicated children’s hospital.
Gina-Marie has been working in health care operations for 25 years, working at several NYC academic institutions including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Weill Cornell Medicine, and Maimonides Medical Center. Gina-Marie came to Northwell in 2017 and has worked in Pediatrics ever since.
Gina-Marie attended the University of Scranton for her undergraduate degree and went on to pursue her Master of Public Administration at NYU. Gina-Marie lives on Long Island with her husband and 4 children. Aside from her children, her greatest personal accomplishment has been running the NYC marathon twice. Gina-Marie loves to run, dance, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She serves on 2 PTAs and is the school district’s liaison to the special education community. Gina-Marie is an active member of AAAP and served as the Program Director for the 2025 annual meeting.

Jack Curran, Past-President

Jack is currently a Director in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. Previously, he was the Associate Chair for Administration and Senior Administrator for Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill from 2021 to 2024 and Administrative Director in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City from 2009 to 2021. Jack has been an active member in the AAAP since 2012. He previously served on the Board of Directors as Salary Survey Director from 2016-2020.

Jamie Hoffman, Program Director

Jamie Hoffman currently serves as the Vice Chair of Administration for the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In this role, she is responsible for the financials, operations, and strategic growth for the department that is made up of 18 subspecialty divisions with almost 1,000 faculty members. Jamie has been with CHOP for over 15 years and has held leadership roles in several divisions within the Department of Pediatrics. Most recently as the Senior Director of the Division of Neonatology (CHOP) and the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Department of Neonatology with the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania (CPUP).
Jamie received her master’s in business administration from Drexel University’s LEAD MBA program in Philadelphia, PA. Jamie lives in New Jersey with her husband (Jeff), her daughter (Ryan), and son (Aiden). Jamie has been a member of the AAAP since 2017 and enjoys the education, networking, and development opportunities this organization provides.

Christopher Carew, Program Director-Elect

Chris currently holds the positions of Executive Director, Paediatric Operations in the Department of Paediatrics at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto Ontario, and the Business Officer for Department of Paediatrics at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto. Chris joined the Department of Paediatrics and University of Toronto in 2017.
Chris serves as the strategic, administrative, financial and operational partner to the Chair, Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto and Paediatrician-in-Chief at SickKids. Chris is responsible for the overall management of the department’s physician Funding Plan.
Previously Chris served as the director of strategy for the Centre for Genetic Medicine at SickKids. In this role, Chris brought together research and clinical leaders through the translation of new genetic knowledge with the goal to improve children’s health outcomes through individualized genetic medicine and research while building a more integrated service delivery model for genetics across Ontario.
Prior to joining SickKids in 2007, Chris held senior positions as Executive Director of the Grand River District Health Council and most recently as the Chief Executive Officer leading provincial planning and research initiatives for the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario. -
Angela Fuste, Membership Director

Angela Fusté is the Sr. Administrative Officer of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She started her career at the university in 1999 in the Department of Pediatrics as Division Administrator for the Division of Community Pediatrics. Angela has held numerous positions in the Departments of Pediatrics and OBGYN throughout her years at the university. She has been an active AAAP member since 2014. Angela hosted the 2019 AAAP Fall Meeting in Miami, FL and was the 2021 AAAP Program Director. Angela received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Miami and her master’s in healthcare administration from Florida International University. She has over 25+ years of healthcare experience. In her spare time, she enjoys event planning and traveling with her husband, Octavio, and two children.

Brad Bender, Communications Director

Brad Bender has extensive experience in pediatric healthcare administration and operations. As Senior Director at Lurie Children’s Hospital, he oversees administrative leadership across multiple medical specialty and primary care divisions. His career reflects a solid foundation in strategic planning, operational management, and program growth, evidenced by his previous roles as Administrative Director for NICU Service Line Development at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Pediatrics Department Administrator at Rush University Children’s Hospital, and Clinical Section Administrator at Comer Children’s Hospital.
Brad holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in healthcare administration and brings two decades of leadership experience in clinical management. His dedication to professional development is further demonstrated by his membership in AAAP since 2017, where he recently contributed as part of the Program Planning Committee and site host team for the 2024 national meeting in Chicago. Brad is actively involved with CHA, MGMA, and ACHE, and has served on Truman State University’s Health Education Advisory Board since 2013. His proven ability to drive operational excellence and facilitate cross-functional collaboration make him a valuable leader in healthcare administration.

Tyler Sebahar, Salary Survey Director

Tyler Sebahar is an active AAAP member and currently the Director of Finance and Budget at the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics, where he has spent the last 7 years working in various finance roles. In his role, he is responsible for managing the Department’s fiscal operations and annual budget, working with a team of 15 Division Administrators and 11 Accountants. Tyler has a specific interest in faculty and staff compensation, supporting oversight of all salary adjustments across the Department’s 1,200 faculty and staff, including fiscal year increases, promotions, off‐cycle adjustments and starting salaries. This oversight includes responsibilities such as annual analysis of faculty and trainee compensation compared to benchmarks by specialty/PGY, and approving all compensation and incentive pay plans across the Department. Tyler has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Utah and loves spending time with his family, mountain biking and snowboarding.

Amelia Randall, Treasurer

Amelia Randall currently serves as the Senior Director of Finance for the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University and the Emory + Children’s Pediatric Institute. Prior to joining the department in 2008, Amelia attended Georgia Tech where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Amelia has been a member of AAAP since 2014 and has served as Secretary, and co-site host for the Atlanta annual meeting and New Orleans Regional. In 2017, she completed her Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School Executive MBA program. As a scientist and former research administrator, Amelia has a passion for all things science and academia and is always looking for ways to better support her faculty and staff and particularly enjoys the comradery and network of the AAAP . A native of Georgia, Amelia currently resides with her new husband Justin in their first home together in Tucker, GA. She enjoys all things fiber arts, but particularly enjoys knitting, cross-stitch, needlepoint, crochet, and embroidery. When not working tirelessly with her long-time mentor and boss Liz McCarty to make Pediatrics everything it can and more, you can find her working out a Pure Barre, crafting with her cats, or reading the next Discworld book on her list.

Molly Barnes, Secretary

Molly Barnes, M.A., serves as the Director of Administrative Operations for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. Molly primarily oversees contracts and the administrative team that support 19 divisions and over 100 faculty. She completed her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Lincoln College and later completed her master’s degree in organizational leadership from Lewis University. Molly has been a member of the AAAP since early 2022. She lives in a small town in Central Illinois with her husband and two children.
