Provide senior level departmental leadership in all aspects of operations, planning, strategy and administration. For the Department of Pediatrics there is responsibility to/for: a. All operational activities including the development of new programs and processes b. Oversight of local level Human Resources functions and processes, including staff development, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, recruitment, and onboarding c. Professional advancement and strategic direction for all staff, faculty, residents and fellows d. Participate in the annual revenue and expense budget e. Financial reporting and dashboards f. Goal setting and leadership to achieve the goals g. Be the liaison between the department and operational areas of Children’s Mercy h. Create new program(s) which ensure Children’s Mercy remains a leader in provisioning health care to children. In partnership with the Department of Pediatrics Senior Department Administrator, this position has responsibility to provide expectations, leadership, training, resource systems and accountability for establishing department staff and faculty engagement and communication opportunities. Additionally, will provide support for the development of infrastructure and initiatives, including processes and systems that support staff and faculty engagement in the Department of Pediatrics. Also serves as a key liaison between faculty and staff in the Department of Pediatrics and division level leaders. Administrative Director of Operations provides direction as well as formal organizational accountability for directors and other non-physician staff in accordance with the policies of the hospital and medical staff. This includes the overall planning, design, coordination, direction, and budgetary management of services.
