Controller

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Practice Association (CHOPPA) is seeking candidates for the newly opened role of Controller, Sr. Director.  This role will report directly to the CFO, CHOPPA.

The Controller Sr. Director, a critical leadership position within the Physician Organization, is responsible for team development, month end close and consolidation, analysis, annual audit, all regulatory filings and faculty payroll processing.

This role will plan, organize, and manage accounting functions for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Practice Association (CHOPPA) practice plans.

Key responsibilities include:

·       Oversees the execution of the monthly close and consolidation of the Physician Practice Plans.

·       Supports Financial Reporting needs for the local teams.

·       Reports CHOPPA results in Enterprise monthly close meeting.

·       Ensures CHOPPA team understands and is able to account for unique business needs.

·       Oversees the General Ledger account reconciliations and supports Enterprise Budget to Actual analysis.

·       Manages the annual and interim audit processes, which includes the preparation of any external reporting to government entities including the Federal Form 990, Excise Tax and Sales & Use Tax Renewals

·       Oversees the management of the faculty payroll

Education and Credentials

·       Bachelor’s Degree Required

·       Master’s Degree Accounting Preferred

Experience

·       At least ten (10) years accounting experience Required and

·       At least seven (7) years supervisory or managerial experience Required

·       Previous experience within a healthcare related environment Preferred

·       Advanced knowledge of financial management systems (Workday, Lawson)

·       Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
