Susan is Senior Director of Physician Practice Plan Administration for the Division of Neurology and the Neuroscience Service Line at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she serves as the strategic, operational, and financial partner to clinical and research leadership across one of the nation’s leading pediatric neuroscience programs.
Since joining CHOP in 2018, Susan has held leadership roles supporting both research and clinical enterprises, including the Center for Applied Genomics, the Division of Hematology, and most recently Neurology. Her work focuses on aligning strategy, operations, finance, and people to advance patient care, research innovation, and academic excellence.
Prior to CHOP, Susan held administrative and operational roles at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research and Genomics Medicine Ireland, where she helped develop large-scale genomics research collaborations and population health initiatives. Her professional interests include pediatric health policy, academic health system strategy, and translating organizational strategy into measurable results.
Susan holds a BA and MPA from the University of Pennsylvania and a DBA from Wilmington University. She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been an active member of the Association of Administrators in Academic Pediatrics since 2022.
Susan presented a session on sustaining innovative pediatric research at the 2024 AAAP Spring Meeting and developed the policy session for the 2026 AAAP Spring Meeting. She looks forward to serving as AAAP Program Director-Elect and supporting the continued growth and engagement of the AAAP community.
